3RD ANNUAL ‘BREAKFAST WITH THE BLADES’ SET FOR OCT. 31 October 26, 2010

Lee Memorial Health System Foundation announces that the 3rd Annual “Breakfast with the Blades” is set for this Sunday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, Florida. Picone Financial Partners has returned for a third year as presenting sponsor.

This year’s Halloween-themed event allows guests to enjoy a gourmet hot breakfast with the full Florida Everblades hockey team.  The Florida Everblades Team (affiliate of The Tampa Bay Lightning) will come out to the annual event to support life-saving care at The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. An anonymous donor will match all funds raised to help save the lives of Southwest Florida children.

Auction selections include fantastic trips to experience the romantic holiday magic of Portland, Maine, attend a taping of The Rachael Ray Show in New York City and attend the coveted “2011 NHL Winter Classic” to watch two of the NHL’s finest—Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin battle it out on New Year’s Day at Heinz Field.  Also featured will be a luxury trip to Indianapolis to watch the Dallas Cowboys take on the Indianapolis Colts and an opportunity, inclusive of on-field passes, to see the Philadelphia Eagles play division rival New York Giants.  A rare trip to the Mile High City of Denver is also featured with a luxury package that includes Denver Nuggets versus Utah Jazz tickets. Included in the silent auction will be gourmet dinners, luxury spa packages, Miami Dolphins tickets and getaways to some of the finest golf courses and beach-side resorts.

Costumes are welcomed and encouraged at the fun family event. The annual event helps children learn about exercise and active play through interaction with highly-conditioned professional athletes.

Tickets are $100 per person, or $50 for children 12 and under.  Corporate sponsorships and table discounts are available.  To make a reservation to be part of this very special morning supporting local children’s health and wellness, please call 239-985-3550 or visit www.LeeMemorial.Org/Foundation and click on the “events” page.

CAMEO TO RAISE MONEY FOR LEE COUNTY SENIORS! October 20, 2010

Last year, a group of local businesses formalized their decade-long commitment to the seniors of Lee County and formed CAMEO of Lee County Inc (for Cooperative Associates Marketing Elderly Options).  During this past year, CAMEO has worked diligently to raise funds to help where needed, and is proud to announce that their year-to-date total of donated funds is over $5000.

On Wednesday, November 3rd, CAMEO is planning its second annual fundraiser – “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” – at PASEO in Ft. Myers.  Like last year’s fundraiser, this one will be full of opportunity for all attendees to win great prizes, including weekend vacations, gift baskets, sporting event tickets, and much more.  The event will be hosted by DJ Dave Alexander, the voice of the Everblades, and feature music, dancing, games of skill, silent auction, and more.

“Last year, CAMEO worked hard to raise money to help our local seniors, and we are proud of the job that we did”, says CAMEO’s Marcy Roemer-Smith, chairperson of the fundraising committee.  “This year, we have doubled our goal, and hope to be able to put $10,000 towards social programs and services for our area seniors”.

Tickets for this event are a $30 donation and include admission, appetizers, and a raffle ticket.  Cash bar available.   For more information on CAMEO or to purchase tickets, please contact Dave Kelly at 239-823-3542.
