SOCK IT TO ME! July 9, 2010

PACE CENTER FOR GIRLS TO HOST THE ULTRA HIP PARTY OF THE SUMMER; “SOCK IT TO ME,” AN EXTRAVAGANT THEMED EVENT, TO BE HELD JULY 24

PACE Center for Girls, Collier, a community-based, gender-responsive prevention, counseling and academic program for at-risk girls, will host the “Sock It To Me” themed extravaganza on July 24, 2010 at The Collection at Vanderbilt in North Naples. This ultra hip event is being produced by New York City event producer Michael Biondo of Michael Biondo Lifestyle Design and promises to be a nostalgic trip back through the 1960s.

For this special benefit, 8,000 square feet of space in The Collection at Vanderbilt, has been fashioned into a Warhol-esque factory style party site, taking all who enter on a trip back through time. The evening will be jam-packed with visual delights, theatrical performances, comedy skits, music, dance, savory gourmet delights and much more! Volunteers have been working for months to transform the interior space into a magical experience that will leave guests in awe.

Upon arrival guests will be greeted by a Pan-Am flight crew and escorted into a specially created “time machine” that will rapidly transport them to the 1960’s. When exiting the time machine, guests will enter a fashionable retro boutique stocked with 1960’s style clothing, wigs, jewelry, and other fun accessories. In the main lounge area, guests can enjoy the evening’s signature cocktail, the “Sock-It-Tini” and other premium cocktails while enjoying the music of the decade.

VIP guests may spend leisure time in one of a number of exclusive theme rooms, including the

Jacqueline Kennedy White House Suite, where Jacqueline Kennedy will be the hostess; the Beatnik Café, featuring an artist creating a work of art live on stage which will be auctioned at the evening’s end; the Valley of the Dolls Lounge, inspired by Jacqueline Suzanne’s famous novel and the 1967 movie starring Patty Duke; and the Flower Power Garden, with artwork hand-painted by local artists. In each of the theme rooms, guests will be treated to concierge service throughout the evening. Reserved dance floor tables also are available where guests can have a front row seat to the live action with table-side service. A spectacular “Laugh-In” Joke Wall has been recreated center stage as a backdrop for the night’s fabulous entertainment.

The “Sock It To Me” event is a production by Michael Biondo, who will bring New York City elegance and drama to this, his first ever Naples charity event. Biondo has 20 years of experience in the fields of fashion, event planning and interior ambiance. He has worked with both celebrity and private clientele and has been featured in a number of national and international publications and television.
