SALVATION ARMY RED KETTLE CAMPAIGN IN COLLIER COUNTY November 3, 2010

Myra Daniels will launch the Collier County Red Kettle campaign at a Gala and Auction Dinner on Thursday, November 18 at Naples Sailing and Yacht Club, River Point Drive at 6.00 pm. There will be a Silent and Live Auction including a vacation in Venice, Italy. Tickets for the luncheon are $75.00. The Salvation Army Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Steven Burn will play before at the dinner and there will be dancing to Michael Angelo. Black Tie optional.

This year’s Red Kettle campaign is vital in supporting Collier families and children who are in need. They will receive food at Thanksgiving and at Christmas and children and seniors will receive Christmas gifts. The remaining funds support the emergency social services program run by the Salvation Army in Collier throughout the year. This year alone we have seen an increase of over 100% in food distribution and a 35% increase in new families requesting support for their children over Christmas. Every dollar raised stays in Collier and helps our residents.

From its humble beginnings as a fundraiser started by a Salvation Army Captain in San Francisco in 1891, the Red Kettle Campaign has grown into one of the most recognizable and important charitable campaigns in the United States.

Now you can use your credit or debit card to make a donation to people in need at more than 300 Salvation Army Red Kettles in more than 120 cities across the country. Here in Naples credit card donations can be made at Wynn’s Market on US 41 in Naples from 12.00 noon, Wednesday, December 2, 2009.

The nation’s largest direct provider of social services is offering the new payment options, in addition to spare change, to help deliver food, toys, clothing and other critical services to people in need during the Christmas season and throughout the year.

THE SALVATION ARMY RED KETTLE CAMPAIGN IN COLLIER COUNTY NEEDS BELLRINGERS

“Calling for Volunteers in Collier County!

The Salvation Army of Collier County will be holding the Red Kettle Campaign

from Nov 20 thru to Dec 24. Would you like to be a bell ringer?

There will be kettles at over 50 locations in Collier County. Kettles will be at Publix, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, K mart, Wynn’s Market, Winn Dixie, Macys, JC Penney and on 5th Ave and 3rd Street as well as at the Big Cypress Marketplace.

It is a great way for an individual, or a group to have a fun time, maybe dress up and wear a Santa Hat and man a kettle for a day from 10.00 to 6.00 on 2 hour shifts and in turn help families and children in-need in our County. Kettles are manned Monday thru Saturday and it is a great way to show how your group, association or church helps our community.

If you would like to volunteer or you have group to volunteer please call Chris Nind, on 775 9447 or 331 0381.
