“Step into Spring” Fashion Show & Luncheon February 7, 2011

“To Benefit Children with Cancer & Blood Disorders”

Candlelighters of Southwest Florida is hosting their 9th Annual “Step into Spring” Fashion Show and Luncheon on Tuesday, March 29th at 11:30 am at The Forest Country Club.  Following a very successful show in 2010, this popular luncheon is anticipated to be another sell out so we encourage anyone interested in attending to contact Candlelighters and purchase your ticket for $40 per person.

Candlelighters’ survivors and local volunteers, including WINK NEWS Anchor Jen Stacey will model the latest seasonal styles and trends. The spring fashion collections will be provided by two popular venues Stein Mart for the adult fashions and Hartstrings.  Local Hair Salons and make-up artists will be on hand to make sure all our models look their best as they head down the catwalk.

This glamorous fund raising event helps to provide much needed funds to support this local 501c3 charity.  For over 28 years, Candlelighters of Southwest Florida has provided support, education and numerous opportunities for families with children diagnosed with cancer or other blood disorders to meet one another, share experiences and to enjoy family activities that help to take their minds off of the disease, the medical bills and other worries.  All services are provided at no cost to newly diagnosed families, those children in treatment, survivors and those suffering from the long term effects of treatments.

BRIGHTEN MY WORLD ART PROJECT December 2, 2010

November 22—December 25, 2010

Broadway Palm Dinner Theater

For the past twenty seven years, Candlelighters of Southwest Florida, Inc. continues to serve children diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders throughout Southwest Florida.  The non-profit charity offers a variety of free programs and services to meet the growing needs of local families dealing with a life threatening illness.

Candlelighters of Southwest Florida is pleased to present the Eleventh Annual Brighten My World Art Project, an exhibit featuring the talents of local Candlelighters artists from Naples, Cape Coral & Fort Myers whose lives have been touched by cancer or a blood-related disease. The artwork offers a unique insight into the special issues children face as they deal with a life threatening illness and provides the public a unique view from a child’s prospective a painful memory or hopefully a more memorable family time spent with their new friends at Candlelighters.

Brighten My World art will be displayed throughout the Holiday Season , as part of our national effort to raise greater awareness of the special needs of young cancer patients, children with blood disorders and their siblings.

Visit the Candlelighters children’s artwork in the art gallery at the Broadway Palm Theater throughout the month December during normal business hours.

“Candlelighters is such an important part of our community, we are as unique a charity as the children and families we help throughout Southwest Florida” says Klair Snellbaker, Executive Director.  “In over 27 years, the charitable donations received by Candlelighters has touched well over 500 families in Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry and Lee counties and to think, it started with one child … the hope continues!”
