The Fast & The Furriest Moved Back 1 Week to Thursday, April 7

IMPORTANT DATE CHANGE: Due to inclementweather, “The John Marazzi Dealerships’ THE FAST & THE FURRIEST 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk
to Benefit the Gulf Coast Humane Society” has been
moved back to one week from today, atCoconut Point on Thursday evening, April 7, 2011.

The event is expected to attract running enthusiasts and animal lovers from all “walks” of
life, and 100% of the proceeds will be used to provide care and find adoptive homes for the animals
at the Gulf Coast Humane Society.
“As the title sponsor for our inaugural The Fast & The Furriest, John Marazzi has
demonstrated once again his generous commitment to help our shelter pets,” says GCHS Executive
Director David Stroud. “This is going to be an exciting event at a prestigious venue. The dogfriendly
5K race and 1-mile walk is a fun, unique experience for the entire family and a great
fundraiser to support the dogs and cats at GCHS.”
The 5K race portion of the event will begin promptly at 6:30pm, with timing provided by 3D
Racing. There will be raffle prize drawings, live entertainment, and great food and drink specials

humane care for abandoned and neglected animals through rescue, safe refuge, compassionate care,
and adoption into a loving, forever home. The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) not-forprofit
animal welfare organization that receives no federal, state, or county funding and no funding
from the Humane Society of the United States, and relies solely on donations, grants, bequests and
fundraising events to further its mission. GCHS is a no-kill shelter and does not euthanize any
animal for lack of space or length of time that they are in the shelter. GCHS also operates a fullservice
veterinary clinic open to the public six days a week.
